My J-boys
While surfing the Internet, I saw the photo of my J-boys. All right, I share them with Kaytee and millions of others as well.
They seem to be having lots of fun!
How did I get into all the J-storm?
Once more, I blame Kaytee. She was raving about Hana Yori Dango, the Japanese version of Meteor Garden. But I loved MG so much that I wasn't really keen on watching HYD. I read a story on it once in ST and the looks of the boys were not really promising compared to my Taiwanese boys.
Then Kaytee asked me to buy the series here. I did only to find out that it doesn't have English subtitles! But that's getting ahead of the story.
Of course I popped the VCDs into my player first to see what the fuss was all about. And despite the series not having English subs, I still enjoyed it and right there and then, turned into a Matsumoto Jun fan that I even had to devote an entry on who plays the better Tsukasa in my other blog. (The vote went to MatsuJun.)
And just like many other Arashi fans, I discovered the band through MatsuJun (that's why the movement has been dubbed as the "Jun bait"; o ha, talagang may term). But I wasn't sold out at first and only went to the music shop to check their CDs because Kaytee was raving over their music. I bought what was the only CD available, which turned out to be a short version of one of their albums (it only had three songs plus the karaoke versions). Nonetheless, I became a fan. The rest, as they say, is history.
Since then, Kaytee and I have been crazily exchanging music files. I panicked because the previous albums that I used to see at the music shop are no longer available here and the girl at CD Warehouse told me that they could not order a fresh batch anymore (label issues I suppose?). That's why I really need to haul myself to Tokyo to get a collection of their music and their concert DVDs.
In the meantime, I'm having fun listening to their songs (I can't choose e favourite!) and crossing my fingers that Arashi Action Plan works out so I'll get to see them in concert soon!
